Final Six For ‘Get In The Ring’ Saint Lucia 2020

THE Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and GEW Saint Lucia are pleased to announce that the final six startups for the ‘Get In The Ring’ St. Lucia 2020 Competition have been selected!

Proceeding the official closure of registration, startups participated in a two day packed pitch training and speed networking session facilitated by corporate officials, knowledgeable professionals and successful entrepreneurs. The two days served as a means of providing startups with vital information specific to various areas of business, guidance and mentorship which are all necessary for the development of their businesses, as well as crucial to their success in the competition.

On Tuesday 20th October 2020, all startups convened at the Union Orchid Garden from 9:00AM for the Preliminary Round of the competition. Before a panel of five Preliminary Champion Jurors, each competing startup pitched on five different subject areas in business within the allotted 30 seconds. The areas included Team, Achievements, Business Model & Market, Financials & Investment Proposition and Freestyle. Preliminary Champion Jurors were then allocated five minutes to pose questions to startups and, a further five minutes for deliberation and scoring. Once all startups had pitched, Preliminary Champion Jurors ensued in a final discussion prior to the announcement of the final six.

The panel of adjudicators, in their summative remarks provided supplementary feedback to participants; startups were commended for their efforts, reminded of areas they need to improve on and implored to always maximize the opportunities and platforms like Get In The Ring, which exists for their advantage.

As per the Preliminary Jury’s decision, the final six startups advancing to the Grand Battle on Tuesday 27th October 2020 are: Mos Maniakal Gaming Company, Trudy’s Exotic Cuisine, InVictus, Ewitaj, Mantra Juices and Noah Energy.
