Forty Five Goals Scored In SLFA Youth Club Tournament At The Weekend

A whopping 45 goals were scored when the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc Boys  Club Aged tournament kicked off at the weekend at the Anse la Raye playing field and the Phillip Marcellin Grounds (PMG) in Vieux Fort.

The main highlight saw, M. James of Shamballa registering the first hattrick in the Under 13 division; Nathaniel Fontinelle of DCYO and D’ Yami Belasse of Uptown Rebels scoring a hattrick in the Under 17 division and Riquelme Elva of Upton Rebels the first quadruple in the Under 17 division respectively.

Here are the results of some of the matches played:

In Under 13 action at the Anse la Raye playing field, it was a no show as Boguis nor GMC turned up for their encounters against Valley Soccer and New Generations respectively.

Nevertheless two other matches were played. FC Pioneers defeated Flow Lancers FC 3 – 2.  Scoring for Pioneers were Curtrel Francois with two goals in the 4th and 32nd minute and Dante Barthelmy in the 30th minute.

Flow Lancers FC, their goal scorers were Michael St. Claire in the 19th and Kymani Sexius in the 26th minute.

In the other game played, Northern United defeated 1987 All Stars 3 – 1 with goals by Terez Evans 12th minute, Shiloh John 29th minute and Richie Brown 33rd minute.

Lian Danzie was All Stars lone goal scorer in the 17th minute.

At the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in the first game Victory Eagle and Black Panthers played to a goalless draw.

In the second encounter, Richfond Youth Organisation – RYO and Knights FC played to a 1 – 1 draw.  Silius St Romain scored for Knights in the 21st minute and Eden Sandiford for RYO in the 9th minute.

In Under 13 action played at the Anse la Raye playing field. In game No. 1, Flow Lancers with two goals from Naheem Remy in the 24th and 51st minute defeated La Clery All Stars 2 – 0.

In the second encounter, B1 FC and Pioneers played to an exciting 1-1 draw. Leonus Seopal opened the scoring for B1 in the 5th minute only for Curtrel to equalize in the 36th minute.

At the PMG, Playing the first game Knights got past Aux Lyon United 3 – 2, with their goal scorers being Neandre Charles 8th, Darrell Harris 27th and Keyyaun Cenac 42nd minute.

Scoring for Aux Lyon were Delan Gilbert 9th and Rohan Tisson in the first minute of added-on time.

In the second game played, Shamballa registered an emphatic 4 – 0 victory over DCYO with Marshall James scoring a hat trick in the 16th, 30th and 40th and Ethan David the other in the 47th minute.

In Under 17 action at the PMG, DCYO trounced Diamond Ballers 6 – 1. Nathaniel Fontenelle scored a hat trick in the 15th,18th, and 33rd minute, while the others were scored by Elijah Joseph 29th minute, Ivor Daniel 31st  and an own goal by Conrad Evans in the 58th minute.

Kimanie St. Juste scored the lone goal for Diamond Ballers via the penalty spot in the 9th minute.

In Under 17 action at the PMG on Sunday, it was all Upton Rebels when they defeated Knights 8 – 0 with four goals coming from the boots of Riquelme Elva; three goals from D’Yami Belasse and 1 goal from Jason Clarke. The halftime score  4-0.

Also at the PMG, Aux Lyon United defeated Challengers 2-1; Naqwan Henry scored both goals for Aux Lyon.  Michael Deyns scored for Challengers.

Black Panthers had the better of RYO 2-1. For Black Panthers the goal scorers were, Steven Octave and Iverson Atticot; while Candio Joseph pulled one back for RYO.
