Veterans in Sports Inc. CEO Alvin Malaykhan spoke to the VOICE about this weekend’s showdown in the Valley. Malaykhan noted, “The 2019/2020 VISI Football Tournament will resume after a well-deserved break. We are down to the 16 teams, with eight teams battling for the prestigious Caribbean Alliance Gold Cup and the other eight battling for the Plate Championship. This weekend is about the Plate Championship as we kick off what we’re hoping will be a spectacular weekend.”

He added, “All four matches on the cards this weekend should be very interesting as any of the teams on show could have won the main championship. Kicking off the Knock Out will be Canaries Veterans taking on Labowi Connexions. Then the prime time; a treat for the Valley will be their home team taking on a much improved Mon Repos Sharks team.

According to Malaykhan, “On Sunday there’s even more action with Choiseul with some really exciting players taking on an aggressive Vieux Fort North team. The final matchup will see former champions Caricom Masters trying to secure a place in the semifinal stage as they take on Congorians.”

From the account of the VISI CEO, the stage is set for an exciting kickoff filled with lots of prizes and giveaways!
