The death of sixty-six year old British National Robert “Bob” Hathaway, has officially been ruled as homicide by Saint Lucian Police.
On Sunday January 13, 2019, at about 1:30 p.m. officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station responded to a report of a suspicious death at Piat in Grande Riviere, Gros Islet.
Hathaway was found in his home with apparent wounds to the body and was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for a subsequent date and the circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.
On Monday January 14, approximately 9:15 p.m., officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department in Castries, responded to a report of a shooting at Water Works Road, Castries.
Upon arrival, officers observed the apparent lifeless body of Hendy Calderon, a twenty year old resident of Water Works Road, Castries. He was conveyed to the Victoria Hospital, where it was noted that he sustained multiple gunshot wounds about his body and later formally pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for a subsequent date. Investigations are ongoing in this matter.
The two homicides are the first and second for the year 2019.
