FROM Monday the 12th of March to Wednesday the 14th, Patrick D’almada, a National Trainer from the Canadian Lifesaving Society, came to lead St. Lucia’s Trainers in a leadership update clinic.
He guided local trainers so they could go on to lead the clinic themselves and updated St. Lucia’s Lifesaving Instructors on Thursday the 15th.
While present on Thursday, D’almada took the opportunity to hand over to the St. Lucia Life Saving Association a set of 10 CPR dolls sponsored by Commonwealth Drowning Prevention Association in collaboration with Laerdal.
These dolls (and the resources and materials included with them) will help to facilitate the teaching of CPR and First Aid skills on a larger scale within the island.
The Associations president, John Bruce, also presented the certification cards earned by the local Lifesaving Instructors in 2017.
