PRESS RELEASE – POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Nick Elibox, as a result of a vehicular accident which occurred on Sunday around 2:30 a.m. on La Retraite Road in Gros Islet.
Elibox, a 19-year-old resident of Bexon, Castries, was the driver of motor vehicle registration number PE 8350 which veered off the road, colliding with an earth embankment. Elibox, a national youth cricketer, was transported to the Victoria Hospital via ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries about 3:00 a.m. that same day.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for today.
Four other occupants of the said vehicle sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Investigations are continuing into this matter.
This was the fifth road fatality recorded for the year 2018. The others included teenagers Bradley Cyril and Brandon St. Omer who died along the Vide Bouteille Highway when the car in which they were travelling flipped; and 3-year-old Alexander Samuel, who died on January 26 in Micoud while travelling in a vehicle with relatives.
