Solid Waste Collection In Ciceron Set To Improve

PRESS RELEASE – THE community of Ciceron is poised to receive a major facelift, says the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA).

This welcomed transition will be made possible via an improved solid waste collection system tailored to provide collection coverage with particular emphasis on areas that have historically not benefitted from the service.

Residents will also experience a discontinuation of the traditional roadside garbage heaps and filth that has been synonymous with their community under this new collection system.

The Authority, however, warns residents that the transformation will be successful only if they play their role by adhering to the solid waste collection schedules set for the community.

This new collection service will commence from Monday, February 5 to be continued only on Mondays and Thursdays weekly.

A bulk waste collection service for unwanted household appliances, furniture and fittings will be provided on the first Wednesday of every month beginning on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

All Saturday collections have been discontinued as of the week of Monday, February 5, 2018.
The Authority urges all residents to contact its office at telephone number 453-2208 or 450-7070 or message via WhatsApp at 724-5544 for further assistance.
