PRESS RELEASE – THE National Workers Union (NWU) is appealing to the Management of Secure St. Lucia Ltd. to urgently return to the negotiating table.
Industrial negotiations between the security services company and the National Workers Union began with good progress being made. However, in November 2017, the company abandoned the talks without any formal explanation to the NWU.
Most of the fringe benefits have been agreed upon with wages being the final item on which agreement has to be reached to conclude negotiations.
The NWU hopes that its appeal does not fall on deaf ears and that the company will urgently comply with its industrial obligations to its employees.
A copy of the NWU letter to the company was sent to Stephenson King, Minister for Labour, as well as the Labour Commissioner, Ray Narcisse.
