THE Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority has appointed a new General Manager. He is Justin Roosevelt Sealy, former Strategic Planning Manager attached to the Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) Inc.
Sealy brings to the organization both management and technical expertise from his former employment where he served as Water and Wastewater Engineer, Technical Coordinator with the Planning, Design and Construction Department and Strategic Planning Manager over a period of fourteen years.
He also represented the Association of Professional Engineers on the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority from 2011 until November 2016 where he gained 4-5 years of experience in the governance of the Authority which is now entrusted to him. In his capacity as director, he also served a Chairperson of the Technical Committee.
Sealy is the holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and an MBA with Distinction in Engineering Management from Coventry University in the United Kingdom. He is also a registered professional engineer and the immediate Past President of the Association of Professional Engineers of Saint Lucia.
Sealy is charged with planning, organizing and directing all solid waste management activities of the Authority in accordance with the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Act. The Authority welcomes Sealy to the helm of the organization and challenges him to make a difference to solid waste management on the island.
Meanwhile, sincere thanks go out to outgoing General Manager, DunleyAuguste, for his four-year stint at the Authority. Though short, his leadership was a learning experience for all at the organization. All the best to him as he proceeds on retirement.
