The illicit habit of “hitting” learning institutions is seemingly getting out of control in Saint Lucia.
The Saint Mary’s College was once again the target for thieves but this time according to reports, the quick response from our lawmen managed to foil the intruder(s)’ plans.
An announcement from the Ministry of Education has asked that the students of the Saint Mary’s College stay home today Tuesday 11 October.
Teachers and other staff members are to report to school.
Schools and other learning institutions in fairly close proximity have also reported break-ins during the past few weeks, most notably the National Skills Development Centre (NSDC) who had their offices ransacked and a number items essential to the operation of the centre stolen during the passage of Tropical Storm Matthew.
Details on the arrest of the suspect(s) will be provided in an updated report, as information was not available at press time.
