TALENTED Saint Lucian artiste, Teddyson John has been nominated in the category of “Best Calypso/Soca Entertainer” for the International Reggae and World Music Awards.
The Awards event now in its 35th year is scheduled for October 2 at the Coral Spring Center for the Arts in South Florida.
John is the first Saint Lucian to be nominated for the International Reggae and World Music Awards. Others in his category include Peter Ram of Barbados, and Voice, Olatunji and Patrice Roberts from Trinidad & Tobago.
John says, “It feels good that music from Saint Lucia is recognized, especially as this is the first time a Saint Lucian has been nominated.”
The artiste is excited and looks forward to October 2. Currently John is working on new material for the 2017 Trinidad & Tobago Carnival, which includes new musical collaborations and music videos. He is also looking forward to the Uber Soca Cruise, an event on the Miami Carnival’s calendar of events.
