WITH a whopping EC $10,000.00 at stake for the champion team, the inaugural Prime Minister Independence T20 Cricket competition bowls off today with four matches at Dennery and Mabouya Valley Playing Fields.
The opening match between Choiseul and Vieux Fort North will commence from 10:00 a.m. followed by South Castries and Babonneau at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Dennery Cricket Grounds.
The remaining two matches will be played at the La Ressource Playing Field in Mabouya Valley, with of St.Lucia (BOSL) T20 champions Central Castries taking on Gros Islet from 3:30 p.m.; while home team Mabouya Valley will take on their neighbours to the south, Dennery at 7:00 p.m
For the first time in national cricket, players will be awarded rating points based on their performances in each game. The likes of Denzel James, Chad Polius, Dwight Thomas, Selwyn Boyce, Alvin Prospere, Gaspard Prospere, Johnson Charles, Johnnel Eugene just are some of the players who will be in action this weekend and as they seek to be the highest rated player at the end of the tournament.
The three venues for this tournament are La Resource Playing Field (Mabouya Valley), Dennery Playing Field and Piaye Playing Field.
