ST LUCIA’S first and only craft brewery, Antillia Brewing Company, has released a very special seasonal ale just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Aphrodisiac Ale will be available at the brewery in Rodney Bay starting tomorrow. It is the latest big release in the brewery’s popular St. Lucian Specialty Series.
Aphrodisiac Ale is created by aging Antillia special stout in barrels with bois bande, cocoa nibs and cinnamon. “We have wanted to use bois bande in a beer since our earliest days brewing,” said Andrew Hashey, President, Antillia Brewing Company. “We balance the intensity of the bois bande bark with a careful infusion of cocoa and cinnamon, the flavour is complex, delicious, and arousing.”
Antillia Brewing Co. specializes in traditional, all natural ales. In addition to a lineup of traditional styles such as the Golden Ale, a wheat beer brewed for the Caribbean climate, Antillia brews a series of St. Lucian Specialty beers using local, fresh agricultural products. The brewery opened in February 2015, with a vision of putting St. Lucia on the craft brewing map.
Antillia operates a brewery and tap room and serves their signature style ales by glass, 1L take away growler and keg formats. In its first year of operations Antillia took home four of nine medals awarded in the 2015 Caribbean Beer Competition, including two gold.
Antillia Brewing Co. is located in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet. The brewery specialises in hand crafted traditional ales, brewed for the tastes and climate of the Caribbean. The brewery maintains a tap room and offers tours of the brewery and a tasting of their award winning ales and sells one litre bottles for take home consumption.
