NETBALL entertainment continued in the 2016 Independence Classic with wins for Desruisseaux and Dennery South at home in Division Two and One respectively.
With home court advantage and their crowd support behind them Desruisseaux defeated Avengers 43 -40 although Avengers led up until the third quarter 12 – 8; 21 – 18; 32 -28. The Desruisseaux ladies were able to persevere to the end to win by three clear goals, final score 43 – 40.
For Desruisseaux Kimberly Charlery netted 38 from 47 attempts and Jo-Anne Anderson scored 5 from 15 attempts.
For Avengers Kamala Mangal netted 36 from 47 and Pauline Elidore 4 from 10 attempts.
In Division One: DennerySouth playing on home turf defeated Shamrock 33 – 28. For Dennery South Shem Maxwell netted 29 from 34 attempts and Kaiser Sealy scored 4 from 9 attempts.
For Shamrock Analie John netted 26 from 36 attempts and Jacqueline Remy scored 2 from 9 attempts.
