ST. LUCIA’S first participant at the CAC games being held in Vera Cruz, Mexico swimmer Jordan Augier missed out on making the finals of his second event on Thursday.
In the 50 metres free style event Augier made the B final and placed 5th in a time of 24.04 seconds. The B final was won by Elvis Burrows of the Bahamas in 23.43 seconds.
Earlier on the same day Augier finished in 5th place in a time of 24.02 seconds. That heat was won by Renzo Tjon-a-Joe from Suriname.
The overall winner of the event and gold medalist was Trinidad and Tobago’s George Bovell with Augier finishing 13th overall .
More St. Lucian athletes will be in action in the coming days. Yesterday Friday saw the official weigh in and draw for the Boxing competition which also began last evening. St.Lucia will also have competitors in Tennis, Cycling , Track and Field, Sailing and Beach Volleyball.
