Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station, executed a Warrant to Search for Property upon a residence at Monchy, Gros Islet, on Saturday, May 15, 2021, which resulted in the recovery of a Taurus 9mm Pistol and a magazine containing twelve (12) rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Following the discovery, officers arrested the homeowner, who has since been charged for the offences of Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Prince Nelson, a forty three year old resident of La Bourne, Monchy, was escorted before the First District Court, today, Monday, May 17, 2021, where he pleaded guilty to both charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000.00 cash or suitable surety and will reappear before the court on Monday, May 31, 2021, for sentencing.
