Saint Lucia Roots & Soul 2019 promised a good time, and for the most part delivered. The performances spread across the three day festival were diverse and authentic, all fitting within the wide scope of the “roots” and “soul” umbrella. Patrons benefited from a mix of Reggae, Hip Hop, RnB and Afro-punk from local, regional and international artistes, all of whom brought their best to the stage. Starting with performance poetry on Friday, August 23rd, and culminating in grand fashion with a more mainstream set on Sunday, August 25, the festival saw a diverse audience converging at its two locations; The Ramp in Rodney Bay, and the Pigeon Island National Landmark. In case you missed it, here’s a glimpse at how this year’s festival played out.
