Team Saint Lucia Prepares for CONCACAF Nations

As the Saint Lucia Football Association prepares for its senior men’s’ participation in the Nations League, they have made a number of overseas additions to their squad.

One such addition is Sherwin Emmanuel, a box to box midfielder who recently rejoined the Adelaide Cobras in Australia’s NPL Premier League after a two year stint with Raslatts SK in Sweden.

The 33-year-old defensive midfielder who possesses dual Canadian and Saint Lucian citizenship brings to the team a wealth of experience.

He will be part of Saint Lucia’s squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League Home and Away competition in which Saint Lucia is drawn in Group F in the B League together with El Salvador, Montserrat and Santo Domingo.

Saint Lucia opens their campaign in the tournament on the 7th of September against El Salvador in El Salvador. This will be followed by their fixture against Montserrat on the 10th of September in Saint Lucia.

The Saint Lucia team will be joined by two other foreign based players; namely Chaim Roserie out of Canada and Bradley Nestor from New York, both of whom are on island and have been training with the squad.

Twenty-year-old Chaim Roserie also holds dual citizenship and plays in the centre forward position.

Chaim is the son of Susan Roserie and Peter Roserie, owners of Ideal Bakery in Saint Lucia.

Twenty-three-year-old Bradley Nestor is an attacking midfielder and plays for a semi pro team in the Cosmopolitan Men’s League called FC Doxa.

His parents are Saint Lucians Theodora Cherubin and Julian Nestor both residing in Brooklyn, New York.

Meanwhile, last evening, the National Senior Men’s Football Team continued their intense preparation, taking on Lancers FC in a friendly at the Gros Islet Playing Field. More details in a subsequent edition.
