THE Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility (BIPF) will come alive as the Department of Public Service will stage its annual Futsal Festival in observance of Public Service Day on Saturday 30th June 2018.
The action is scheduled to kick-off from 12 noon and will run until 9pm, when the champion team will be crowned.
The theme for this year is: “Transforming our public service, building excellence and promoting good governance through recognition of outstanding service.”
A total of eight teams have confirmed their participation, with ten per team.
The teams include: Saint Lucia Fire Service, Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, Department of Public Service, Ministry of Health and Wellness, Department of Physical Planning, Customs and Excise Department, Department of Education and Bordelais Correctional Facility.
Coordinator of the event, Shervon Mitchell, said the tournament “will observe all FIFA Futsal rules and regulations.”
Mitchell said, “We are looking forward to the tournament, for which the various teams have been in training. We are inviting all public officers and the general public to come out and support the teams. It will definitely be an electrifying atmosphere.”
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams following the showpiece.
The championship team will take home $750, the second-placed team will get $500 and third place will go home with $350.
