The National Archives Authority of Saint Lucia (NAASL) is pleased to announce that it will stage an exhibition featuring the works of women artists as its contribution to the annual celebration of Nobel Laureate Festival.
“Many of our women artists go unrecognized and unrewarded and, as a result, remain unknown to the public,” said National Archivist, Margot Thomas, in making the announcement recently.
She added that the exhibition will allow the public to appreciate the excellence of the works produced by women artists over the years. On display will be work by seasoned artists as well as newcomers working in different media.
The exhibition will be launched this Wednesday at the National Archives building, Clarke Avenue, Vigie, Castries, where several of the artists will be on hand to share information about their lives and works.
The National Archives Authority of Saint Lucia has been a member of the Nobel Laureate Festival Committee for several years and every year highlights an area of national life as its contribution to the Festival.
