The organizers of the 12th Annual Youth Fest are reporting that all arrangements are in place for the hosting of the event in Vieux Fort on National Day next Sunday.

In the “Youth Star” competition, 17 St. Lucians and two Vincentians made it to the finals to showcase their singing talent in various genres for the title and honour of  “Youth Star 2015”.

The “Teens” category (ages 13 to 19) will feature Shan Lucian, Abigail Martial, Biliana Augustin, Ruff Tops (Autran Octave and McAllisterHunte), Omega Alexander, IantheFernand (Tae), Kayla Serieux and Kurd Leonce (Black Boy).

In the “Twenties” category (ages 20 to 29) Rae Stay Dope and Mainiac (Kaitlyn Charley and Levonn Sealy), Eleza Samuel (Lizzie), Brandon Thourille (Umpa), Robert Rene, Alex Klien (Sawlty), Adrian Klien (Drii Notes), Steffie Ann St. Clair, Shanne James and Tessa George will contest for the lucrative rewards.

This year’s “Youth Star” will take home $5,000 in cash and the winners and the runners up in each category will receive cash prizes.  All performers will be paid appearance fees.

Youth Fest 2015 will also feature four St. Lucian dance groups in the dance off segment. The modelling groups N’Vogue and Imani Models will be entertaining the crowd with fashions as they strut and showcase young talent and beauty.

The show will climax with a grand Family Fete with several of St. Lucia’s top artistes performing. Artistes confirmed to date include Sweet Kay, Young Mecca, Brandon, Soca Bandit, Shemmy and D.J. Cue.  Eva Lucian is the party band accompanying some of St. Lucia’s tittle winning artistes, namely: Arthur, Ezra D’Funmachine, Sedale and Michael Robinson. In keeping with the theme of National Day, Youth Fest is focussing St. Lucian Artistes.

Youth Fest 2015 in the spirit of Christmas and goodwill will be giving free entry and a bag of goodies to the first 200 juniors aged 12 and under to enter the grounds. Juniors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, enter before 4:00p.m. and be accommodated in the reserved section with bouncing castles, slides, face painting, and toys.

Youth Fest is moving from its home base at the Oms Tennis Academy to the spacious and newly renovated Philip Marcellin Grounds in the heart of Vieux Fort. The gates open at 2:00p.m. The show starts at 4:00 p.m. and is programmed to end by 10:00 p.m..

Patrons attending the show and those at home will have an opportunity to text for their favorite artistes. The show will be broadcast live on all frequencies in St. Lucia, Dominica and Antigua on Kairi FM and will also be streamed live on the Internet to audiences worldwide.
