DIGICEL continues to give back and brighten Christmas for residents of communities across Saint Lucia.
Digicel’s management team and staff were in Soufriere, last Saturday to make Christmas brighter for residents and for the six families who suffered major losses, as a result of the devastating fire on October 24.
Team Digicel, as part of the company’s “Brighten Your Christmas Campaign” also visited two other west coast communities of Anse la Raye and Canaries offering patrons and residents handset discounts of over 50% off, double top up, free gifts and prize giveaways. The team went through each community in a motorcade fashion with the Digicel train climaxing in Soufriere.
The Soufriere Square was lit up with representatives from Digicel and residents, as they participated in the Christmas promotion sale and awaited the presentations of cheques totalling $30,000 to the fire victims. Gregory George, Smith Bruneau, Dara Charles, Joseph Gilbert, Marcellus Jn. Pierre, and John Barnette were among the recipients who received cheque donations. Each recipient expressed thanks for the contribution which was geared towards assisting them in returning to a life of normalcy.
Siobhan James-Alexander, Country Manager-Digicel St. Lucia said: “We have traditionally gone into the communities to brighten residents’ Christmas, and this year is no different as we go from one community to the next! We at Digicel are always prepared to provide assistance to the communities we serve and to persons in need. Upon hearing of the devastating fire in the Soufriere town, we felt obliged to assist the victims and help brighten their Christmas. We do hope that the donation made to them today, will assist in recovering the items which they have lost and hopefully they too, can have a brighter Christmas and enjoy the season.”
