THE Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) through its Human Resource Department, has initiated a Strategic Planning Seminar for its Senior Management Team, with the objective of collectively redefining the strategic vision for the organisation for 2016 and beyond.
SLASPA contracted Odyssey Consult Inc Limited, a company with a sound reputation and over 25 years of experience in organizational development, transformation and strategic planning, to support this mission.
This initiative supports SLASPA’s commitment to sustainable development, through business development, constant improvement in operational efficiencies and enhancements in the quality of service provided to stakeholders, a statement from the Authority said.
The expectation is for the complete reformulation of S.M.A.R.T performance objectives not only for senior management but also every member of staff. This ensures a one-team, performance-driven approach to delivering quality service to all stakeholders and creation of a clearly defined, collectively understood, road map to the future.
According to the General Manager/CEO of SLASPA, Mr. Keigan Cox: “Clearly, SLASPA is at a crossroads necessitating consideration of the rapidly evolving global environment, introspection and therefore the development of a strategic vision which is shared by the entire SLASPA team and equally the people of Saint Lucia. Today’s exercise seeks to achieve this, through collective introspection and participation by stakeholders. We cannot move ahead blindly or without leadership or a vision. Let us challenge the status quo and think outside the box in moving the organisation forward.”
Upon completion, the performance management framework within the organisation will be reintroduced, supported by clearly defined S.M.A.R.T objectives and an employee recognition programme.
