Saint Lucia’s vibrant Carnival culture will be highlighted in Miami, showcasing the island’s music, talent, and national pride as part of the Miami Broward Carnival 2026.
An official from the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority [SLTA] asserted that this initiative creates wider global exposure for the Lucian Carnival product display and talent.
In an ongoing partnership with Miami Broward Carnival, the Miami takeover, from October 6–13, is aimed at enhancing the promotional exchange between both destinations. The collaboration extends beyond the shores of Saint Lucia’s national Carnival calendar, exposing the island’s entertainers and its distinctive musical genres that define the Lucian Carnival experience, while introducing Miami audiences to the island’s vibrant Carnival culture.
Lucian Carnival has emerged as one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing Carnival celebrations, attracting increasing attention for its high-energy atmosphere, distinctive music and immersive cultural experience. At the heart of the product is a spectacular 10-kilometre Carnival route, offering revellers an unforgettable journey through Saint Lucia’s communities, with stunning views of the island’s landscape along the way.
“Carnival is one of the most powerful expressions of who we are as a people, and taking that expression beyond our shores for a fifth consecutive year allows us to introduce new audiences to the depth of Saint Lucia’s creative talent and musical culture,” Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage Dr. Ernest Hilaire remarked.
He added, “Our participation in Miami has yielded tremendous results, and we are building on that growth each year. For us, it is about creating visibility for our artists, strengthening the international profile of Lucian Carnival and giving people a reason to move from experiencing the spirit of Saint Lucia abroad to discovering the island for themselves”.
Headed by Christopher Gustave, Marketing Manager with responsibility for Events, the Lucian Carnival Miami takeover will feature Saint Lucian artist, Sedale, and entertainer, Barry Hype, who are scheduled to make appearances at selected events throughout the week. The entertainers will also feature at the Miami Carnival concert along the parade route, providing an opportunity to showcase Saint Lucian music and talent to the thousands of Carnival-goers anticipated to participate in the festivities.
For the Saint Lucian diaspora, Caribbean communities, and Carnival lovers across South Florida, the takeover is an invitation to show up, represent, and celebrate Lucian Carnival.
