Vaval In Sulphur City

.

Fresh on the heels of the national carnival celebration, Soufriere came alive with their version of the annual carnival celebration which, by all accounts, was a massive success.

Under the theme “come for the time, stay for the lime,” the occasion features Friday’s Socaverse boatride, Saturday’s Splash of Colours, Jouvert and Parade of the Bands on Sunday and Parade of the Bands, day 2, on Monday.

CHYC recorded a clean sweep this year, winning Section of the Year, Mas on the Move, and Band of the Year.

The Ole Mas Winner was Columbus Philippe playing “Call Me Bluff, I have 2 Queens.”

.

Jouvert attracted a massive crowd which took revelers on a route which started at the Copra Factory on Palmiste Road, through to New Development, onto Sir. Arthur Lewis Street to Bridge Street, then to the Soufriere Bus Terminal.

A similar route existed for the kiddies portion of the celebration.
