Republic Bank (EC) Limited (RBEC) has officially launched its 2026 Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme, welcoming 14 young people from across the Eastern Caribbean for an immersive learning experience designed to prepare them for the world of work.

The official launch ceremony was held recently, at the Bank’s Castries branch, bringing together participants and Republic Bank team members both in person and virtually from across the Bank’s Eastern Caribbean territories.

Now in its fourth year, the Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme forms part of Republic Bank’s ongoing commitment to investing in young people by providing meaningful opportunities to explore the professional workplace, learn from experienced employees, and gain valuable insight into career pathways.

Delivering the opening remarks, Bruno Didier, St. Lucia’s General Manager, Corporate and Commercial Banking, welcomed the new cohort and described the programme as one of the Bank’s most meaningful youth development initiatives.

“The Youth Link Programme remains one of Republic Bank’s most impactful youth development initiatives, designed to bridge the gap between education and the world of work by equipping our participants with practical experience, mentorship, and the confidence to succeed,” said Didier.

Didier encouraged the apprentices to view the programme as the beginning of an important journey, one filled with opportunity, growth, and transformation.

“At Republic Bank, we are proud to invest in our future professionals, leaders, and innovators, and we look forward to supporting their growth throughout this journey,” he added.

The ceremony also featured an address from Natashua Charles, Senior Manager, Human Resources, who encouraged the 2026 Youth Linkers to embrace the experience fully and make the most of every opportunity throughout the programme.

“Today is more than the launch of a programme. It is the start of new experiences, new relationships, and new opportunities,” Charles said. “For many of you, this may also be your first real introduction to the professional world. That in itself is an important milestone.”

Charles reminded participants that they do not need to have every answer at the start of the journey, but should remain open, curious, and willing to learn.

“What matters is that you took the opportunity to apply, challenge yourselves, and step forward. You believed in your potential, and we believed in it too,” she said.

Over the coming weeks, participants will work alongside Republic Bank teams across a range of business areas, gaining first-hand exposure to the professional environment while developing relationships that will support their future aspirations.
