Exciting Action in SLFA Inc. / Blackheart District League Under-20 Knockout Football

Gros Islet and Dennery have advanced to the quarter-final stages from the round of 16 of the SLFA Inc. / Blackheart District League Boys Under-20 knockout tournament, held on Sunday, May 17, at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort, showcasing dominant performances.

Gros Islet delivered a stunning display, demolishing Laborie 15-0 in the opening round, signaling their offensive prowess and establishing their authority in the tournament.

After leading 8-0 at halftime, Gros Islet unleashed an avalanche of goals, driven by hat tricks from Michael Castange (8′, 28′, and 41′), Rickelme Lionell (13′, 72′, and 77′), and Devaj Edward (21′, 42′, and 55′). Additional contributions came from Thierry Morille (34′ and 70′), Ermitus Edward (86′ and 87′), Kendrick Antoine (23′), and Traylan Henry (69′), sealing a remarkable victory.

In the other match, Dennery overcame Vieux Fort North with a score of 3-1, thanks to goals from Bourne Innocent (65′, 85′) and Corene Hunte (7′). Keshawn Charles scored for Vieux Fort North in the 19th minute.

The BKF U-20 tournament, under the tagline “Where Future Legends Rise,” commenced on Saturday at PMG, featuring preliminary round matches with wins for Roseau Valley, Micoud, and Mon Repos.

Roseau Valley triumphed over Babonneau 2-0, with goals from Neeshun Polius (39′) and Joshua Martial (51′).

In the second game, Micoud also dominated Marchand, winning 2-0, with both goals scored in the first half by Raven Martial (3′) and Maran Tisson (1′ added time).

In an evening thriller, Mon Repos secured a 3-2 victory against Desruisseaux after leading 2-1 at halftime. Mon Repos’ goal scorers included Tonio St. Rose (23′), Tashawn Walter (27′), and Andreas Jn. Baptiste (3′ added time). Jahnil Jn. Baptiste netted two goals for Desruisseaux (22′, 88′).

As a result, Roseau Valley, Mon Repos, and Micoud advanced to the round of 16, which kicked off on Sunday.

The tournament continues on Wednesday, May 20, at PMG with the following matches:

– Central Castries vs. South Castries – 7:00 p.m.

– Vieux Fort South vs. Mon Repos – 9:00 p.m.
