Denver delivered an impressive performance during the two-stage event. On February 21, the 18-year-old competed in the 5 km Individual Time Trial, finishing 3rd in the Under-23 division and placing 15th overall.
He returned on February 22 for the grueling 132 km road race, once again securing 3rd place in the Under-23 division and finishing 16th overall among a highly competitive field.
The celebrations extended beyond the racecourse. Remarkably, during this time, Denver Jr.’s National Championship jersey was raised and displayed at the KOERS Museum of Cycling in Belgium, making him the first Saint Lucian cyclist to receive such an honor.
Currently in Martinique, Denver Jr. continues his campaign this week at the Grand Prix NSBTP (123 km) and will also participate in the Grand Prix DE UCS with a time trial road race on March 7 and the road race on March 8 (112 km).
As he gears up for the Pan American Championships, Denver will travel to Colombia for training ahead of the event on March 15.
The 2026 Pan American Championships will be held in João Pessoa, Brazil, with the team event from July 19–21 and the individual event from July 22–26. This edition marks a significant continental multi-sport gathering, featuring top athletes across various disciplines.
Additionally, other related events like the Pan-American Youth Championships are scheduled for Cuenca, Ecuador, from August 17–22, 2026. The broader Pan American Games cycle continues to highlight regional competition and talent development.
In Denver’s camp, the sentiment is clear: history is not merely being witnessed; it is being pedaled into existence.
