Saint Lucia Cruise Port (SLCP) has announced the commencement of construction on the transformative Soufriere Waterfront project. Piling operations for the new L-shaped jetty commenced last week beginning at the northernmost end to minimize disruptions during the peak 2025/2026 cruise season.

Currently focused on marine works with full piling operations, the project will continue until the complete reconstruction of the waterfront. The SLCP says Mariners and local stakeholders were notified in advance and they will continue to work closely with the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) and other key groups to ensure a seamless project and provide regular updates to key stakeholders. SLCP continues to urge all mariners to traverse the area with caution and observe all navigational markers.

The redevelopment will feature a vibrant boardwalk, a reconstructed L-shaped jetty, dedicated areas for food and beverage vendors and an amphitheater. In partnership with the Government of Saint Lucia, enhancements to the Baron’s Drive area are expected to further support local businesses and enhance the beauty of the Waterfront.

Construction is also advancing in Port Castries where work continues on the boardwalk, Vendor’s Arcade and Fisherman’s Village.

“Improvements to infrastructure will not only position Saint Lucia to welcome more vessels and passengers but optimize the opportunities to our communities, driving economic growth. The curation of innovative experiences and diversity in products across the island will continue to drive visitor disembarkations and increase visitor spend across the island.” Lancelot Arnold, General Manager, Saint Lucia Cruise Port.
