Dr. Gregor Williams passed away on the night of Monday, December 15, leaving a profound legacy within the Saint Lucian community, which extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

He was widely recognized as an outstanding historian and a masterful orator, renowned for his passion and exceptional storytelling ability.

On Earth Day, April 22, 2022, the Saint Lucia National Trust honoured both Sir Julian R. Hunte (founding member) and Dr. Gregor Williams for their lifetime contributions to the preservation of Saint Lucia’s Natural and Cultural Heritage.

As the tributes pour in, Rawle Harvey, a dear friend and comrade of Dr. Williams, asserts:
We extend our deepest sympathy to family and friends. Dr. Gregor Williams was a vital member of the Humanistic Solidarity Association, now known as The Saint Lucia-Cuba Friendship Association.

His significant contributions as an Executive Member and Chairman of the Scholarship Committee from 2007 to 2017 will always be deeply appreciated.

To his wife, Diedre, their children, and all family members, I offer my sincere condolences and share in the profound sadness we feel at his passing. I recognize the dedicated time he devoted to our Association during my term as President.

May his soul rest in peace.

Dr. Williams also served as the Chairman of the Anse-La-Raye (Saint Lucia) UK Association from 2013 to 2024 and was an influential executive member of Unity for many years. His engagement with youth through speaking at National Trust events and involvement in the production “Abandoned Engineering” has left a lasting impact.
