The vibrant colors of red, yellow, blue, pink, and white proudly displayed the strength of various political parties and groups as prospective candidates and their supporters took to the streets on Nomination Day, Friday, November 21.
Richard Frederick, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Castries, confidently declared his readiness to reclaim his seat in the upcoming polls set for December 1.
As he navigated the city streets on Friday, he expressed unwavering optimism.
In a brief interview with The Voice, Frederick asserted that this is his fifth candidacy and that the energy and support this time are monumental.

He confidently remarked, “The turnout on Friday clearly indicates the support I have on the ground. I am thrilled not only by this overwhelming response but by the recognition of my accomplishments. I have earned their support.”
Frederick stated emphatically, “There is a clear qualification for garnering that kind of support, and I will deliver for the people of Central Castries. I have won four elections, and I will win this fifth one too. It’s encouraging to see that most of my supporters from four and a half years ago are still with me, and my following is growing. This demonstrates that I’m doing something right.”
Kenson Casimir – SLP Candidate for Gros Islet:
On Nomination Day, Kenson Casimir confidently marched through the streets of Gros Islet with enthusiastic supporters playing a lively tune as he filed his nomination papers for the December 1, 2025 general election.
Reports from that day highlighted his bold challenge to his opponent, Marcella Johnson of the United Workers Party (UWP), urging her to “have a sale” at her family’s business in Rodney Bay to show genuine concern for the people of Gros Islet.

Casimir, a dynamic former sports broadcaster and journalist, has proven his dedication to community development and youth initiatives since assuming office in August 2021. While facing accusations of corruption and unexplained wealth from the opposition, he and his party have firmly dismissed these claims.
Peter Chiquot – UWP Candidate for Castries East:
“I feel as confident now as I did at the start of this race,” Peter Chiquot declared.
Regarding his chances of defeating the incumbent candidate in the upcoming election, he emphasized that it’s ultimately up to the voters.

Chiquot stated, “The United Workers Party will unveil comprehensive plans for the electorate, focusing on developmental strategies to enhance this constituency and uplift its people.”

He outlined a strong focus on sports, healthcare, and crime reduction, declaring a commitment to restore Castries East as the sporting capital of Saint Lucia and to ensure it remains a safe and thriving community for its residents.
