Team Saint Lucia Expected to Perform At The 33rd OECS Swimming Championships in St. Vincent

Team St. Lucia are expected to put out a solid performance at the 33rd OECS Swimming Championships in neighbouring St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation (SLAF) announced the departure of Team Saint Lucia for the event, which features over 30 swimmers in the various divisions.

The national swim team travelled Thursday with one group of athletes departing in the morning and a second group leaving later in the afternoon. The full contingent, including overseas-based swimmers, met in St. Vincent ahead of the competition’s official start.

Sponsors of Team St. Lucia include SOL, ECTEL, the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee, among others who the Aquatics Federation says are vital to the success of these local athletes.

Team St. Lucia will have a tough task on their hands as the 33rd OECS Swimming Championships is expected to bring together outstanding young athletes from across the Eastern Caribbean competing in various categories.

The youngest athletes in the travelling team will compete in the 8 and Under division while the 18 and Over category will lead the local lineup.
