This season’s SPFL is heating up with riveting play at venues across the island, and enthusiastic fans are passionately supporting the thrilling on-field action.

The defending champions, La Clery, are firmly asserting their dominance in the league’s Tier 1 ranks. The urban Castries-based team is at the top of the points table with a game in hand, showcasing their dominance.
During the Jounen Kwéyòl weekend, four matches took place in Tier 1 at the Soufrière Stadium. La Clery returned to the pitch after three weeks, mourning the loss of talented youngster Ajani Hippolyte.
They resumed their winning ways with an impressive 4-1 victory over South Castries, solidifying their lead with nine points, including a recent win over Mabouya Valley. La Clery’s strikers were unstoppable; Yanic Noel, Daniel Martie, and Mervin St Romain struck before halftime to establish a commanding 3-0 lead.
Malik “Showtime” St Prix added his seventh goal of the season in the second half. Joshua George managed a consolation for South Castries three minutes from time, preventing La Clery from achieving a clean sheet.

Additionally, the home team, Soufriere, stepped up decisively by defeating Mabouya Valley 1-0, with Jahzani Henry netting the decisive goal in the 13th minute.
Central Castries remains in fourth place after their October 24 fixture against Canaries, but they suffered a setback with a 2-1 loss against the sixth-placed Canaries. Jadan Longville and veteran striker David Henry scored for Canaries, establishing a 2-0 lead by halftime and securing their third win of the season.
Prolific striker Messiah Pinel pulled one back for Central in the 73rd minute, but they failed to secure another draw, since their last win in early September.
Dennery is climbing out of the bottom of the table, now positioned in eighth place. The East Coast-based team decisively thumped Choiseul 4-1 for their second win in the last five matchdays.
Sherman St Rose put Dennery ahead 1-0 at halftime, despite Ajani Louis equalizing in the 52nd minute. Goals from Elijah Joseph and a brace from Denelson Jones sealed the victory for Dennery.
Matches continued on Tuesday at the Soufriere Mini-Stadium; with Canaries facing South Castries and Vieux Fort South taking on Gros Islet.
