The St. Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA) says it has officially been informed of the withdrawal of two of its athletes scheduled to participate in the PanAm Games.
Khailan Vitalis is said to have pulled out of participation largely due to due to school scheduling issues while Joy Edward’s withdrawal was due to a personal matter. The Pan American Games which is being held in Asunción, Paraguay is scheduled to conclude on August 23rd.

The SLAA says that while the absence of the athletes is regrettable, the SLAA fully respects and supports the decisions made, recognizing the importance of balancing athletic commitments with personal and academic responsibilities.
The SLAA also extended appreciation to Vitalis and Edward for their dedication to the sport and their efforts in preparing for this significant event.
The SLAA says it remains committed to the growth and development of all its athletes and will continue to ensure that all national representatives at regional and international championships are afforded the best possible opportunities to succeed.
