Olympic champions Mondo Duplantis, Julien Alfred, and Letsile Tebogo were back in action Friday as the global Diamond League athletics circuit returned to Europe for its 10th stop of the season. The race everyone was waiting for delivers in style. Tebogo explodes out of the blocks and matches Lyles stride for stride through the bend. But down the home straight, it’s the American who finds another gear, pulling ahead to claim victory in a season’s best 19.88.

The young Australian sprint talent Gout Gout looked completely at ease under the lights in Monaco, storming to victory in 20.10 – just 0.08 seconds shy of his personal best. A dominant performance that could well be the first of many on the Diamond League stage.
