Emerle Tisson Crowned 2025 National Carnival Queen!

Emerle Tisson, representing the Bank of St. Lucia, dazzled the audience and judges alike, earning the prestigious title of 2025 National Carnival Queen last Saturday.

Tatiana Clovis Freitas, representing the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), secured the 1st runner-up spot, while Kertrina Oculi of JP Chenet claimed the 2nd runner-up position.

The event showcased drama, art, vibrant costumes, and stunning evening wear as seven remarkable young women competed fiercely for the coveted National Carnival Queen title at the Pavilion on Rodney Bay.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement, and fans passionately rallied behind their favorites. With months of training and preparation culminating in this night, the contestants delivered captivating performances across various segments, culminating in the crowning of a new National Carnival Queen.

The show commenced with an opening interview session, leading into the Costume segment, where the creativity of local costume designers stole the spotlight.

Emerle Tisson’s presentation featured a vivid cultural display, followed by Kertrina Oculi portraying La Belle Helen. Hadassah Romulus, representing Ms. Dazzle Magazine, wowed the audience as the Siren of the Sea, highlighting the mystical magic of the ocean.

Ziggy Vitalis from Caribbean Galaxy presented an ‘Afro-Caribbean’ tribute to societal heroes accompanied by an old African chant.

Kittle Symphorien from Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, depicted the exuberance of masquerade dancing, while Seraphin Shernia Phillip showcased her piece, Light, symbolizing national pride.

Tatiana Clovis Freitas’s presentation, ‘Wonder of Underwater Treasure – Lucian Style,’ captivated the crowd.

The Swimwear segment followed, featuring sizzling fashion set against the picturesque Caribbean sea, adding glamour to the evening.

Next came the Talent segment, where contestants showcased their creativity through literary performances, dance, and artistic expressions.

The Evening Wear segment dazzled with intricately designed gowns, culminating in a closing interview session where contestants exuded confidence and elegance in their glitzy attire.

The stage management was impeccable, ensuring a smooth flow of events without any delays, a testament to the production crew’s outstanding efforts.

In a manner similar to the 2024 National Carnival Queen Pageant, delegates competed for multiple prizes in each category. The ‘Best’ awards recognized exceptional design and craftsmanship, while the ‘Best in’ awards honored how confidently and gracefully each delegate presented their elements on stage.

An organizer’s spokesperson stated, “It’s a blend of artistry and performance—both the creation and how it’s brought to life for the judges and audience.”

The winner of the National Carnival Queen Pageant receives a substantial cash prize of $25,000, a fully paid bachelor’s degree scholarship from Monroe University, and a gift box courtesy of Lucille’s Garden.
