In a thrilling display of talent, the St Lucia Sports Academy (SLSA) overcame Stanley Jon Odlum Memorial TVET in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools Under-15 Cricket Tournament last week.
On Friday, SLSA showcased their strength by winning the match by a commanding 10 wickets at the Gros-Islet Mini-Stadium. Batting first, Stanley Jon Odlum Memorial TVET faltered and was bowled out for just 34 runs in 13.3 overs, with Emray Mathurin being the only batter to reach double figures, scoring 11 runs.
The wickets for St Lucia Sports Academy fell to National Under-15 player Trevern Edwards, who delivered an outstanding performance with figures of six for 17 in 6.3 overs. Supporting him were Michael Mitchel with two for four in two overs, and Evan Gilbert, who contributed with two for 12 in five overs.
In response, SLSA’s opening batsmen made quick work of the small target, finishing at 36 without the loss of any wickets in a mere 4.1 overs.
Kyle Stephens led the charge with a solid 18 runs, while Trevern Edwards added 12 runs to seal the victory.
