St. Lucian goalkeeper Vino Barclett and the Jamaican Premier League {JPL} outfit Cavalier SC have won bac-to-back titles. Friday’s final in the Wray & Nephew JPL saw two St. Lucians go head to head at Jamaica’s National Stadium with Melvin Doxilly plying his trade with the Mount Pleasant Academy team.

Friday’s final ended 0-0 after regular and extra time. Cavalier won 6-5 on penalties.

It was the third year in a row the teams were meeting in the final but for the second year in a row, the final was decided by penalties.

Cavalier’s star goalkeeper Barclett had to come up big over the 120 minutes saving a number shots on goal from a relentless Mount Pleasant crew, ensuring the game went to penalty kicks.

Cavalier’s Christopher Ainsworth, like Mount Pleasant’s Sue-Lae McCalla went over the crossbar with their penalty kicks before Barclett saved Clifford Thomas to claim the title.

Champions Cavalier SC and Mount Pleasant Academy will now look forward to the 2025 Caribbean Cup which is scheduled to be played in August.
