It has been nearly a year since the launch of the Julien Alfred Foundation in April, with the official registration process initiated in October through Brick Stone Law Firm. However, despite continuous efforts and due diligence, we find ourselves in a frustrating and unacceptable situation where no official account has been opened to receive deposits and contributions.

Throughout this period, the foundation has received generous commitments from key stakeholders, including Puma, Saint Lucian businesses, and private individuals who wish to contribute to this noble cause. However, due to the ongoing delays and bureaucratic obstacles, these contributions remain in limbo, unable to be deposited or utilized for the intended purpose: supporting Saint Lucian youth in education, sports, and mental health development.

Additionally, we have been approached by Saint Lucians in both Europe and the USA who have expressed a strong desire to donate through checks. Regrettably, we have had to refuse these contributions due to the lack of an operational account and the foundation’s incomplete registration process.

At a critical juncture, the Julien Alfred Foundation is on the verge of securing a major international partnership with Global Ports Holding (GPH), the world’s largest cruise operation company, which recently added Saint Lucia Cruise Port to its portfolio. Julien Alfred is poised to serve as an ambassador, showcasing Saint Lucia globally through their marketing initiatives. Furthermore, she is in discussions with a distinguished jewelry designer, with a vision to contribute a significant portion of her earnings from these agreements directly to the foundation.

Despite her unwavering commitment to giving back to the community, the continued delays and inefficiencies threaten to deprive Saint Lucian youth of scholarships, educational opportunities, sports development, and mental health support. The lack of urgency and accountability in resolving these matters is not only disheartening but also counterproductive to the foundation’s mission.

We refuse to accept complacency and the blame game any longer. Julien Alfred and her team demand immediate resolution and action from the relevant authorities. If this situation persists, we will have no choice but to explore relocating the foundation to the United States to ensure its viability and the fulfillment of its mission.

Time is of the essence. We call upon those responsible to step forward, take ownership, and work toward a swift resolution so that the Julien Alfred Foundation can begin making a tangible difference in the lives of young Saint Lucians.
