After several industrial negotiating sessions between the Management of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and the National Workers Union (NWU), workers will now benefit from a new industrial accord. Technical and clerical agents employed with the institution will enjoy a General wage increase of fourteen percent (14%). The amount will be distributed over a period of three years broken down as 5%, 5% and 4% respectively each year.
There is an upward revision in Paternity Leave, increased to ten days, as well as Improved Study Leave provisions. The other clauses in the existing collective agreement are competitive vis as vis what exists in the market and will remain the same during the said period. That period will span from February 2024 to February 2027.
General Secretary of the National Workers Union, Johann Harewood, has been given full authority by the Management Committee of the Union to have the industrial accord officially signed.
