SLFA Men’s Club Competition Gains Momentum

THE Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Senior Men’s Club competition was in full swing this week. 

On Wednesday at the Corinth Playing Field, New Generation triumphed over B1 FC with a 2-1 victory. Yanic Noel opened the scoring in the 4th minute, and Baggio Edward secured the win with a goal in the 62nd minute, while Kimanie Monrose found the net for B1 FC in the 40th minute.

In the second match, Bays FC and Monchy FC fought fiercely to a 1-1 draw. Elias Jones put Bays FC ahead in the 81st minute, but Aramis Gilbert quickly equalized for Monchy FC just two minutes later.

At the Desruisseaux Playing Field, DCYO and Young Stars also played to a 1-1 draw. Elijah Joseph put DCYO on the scoreboard in the 66th minute, but MacGyver Raymond leveled the match for Young Stars with a penalty in the 73rd minute.

Chesters and Ti Rocher ended their match without any goals, settling for a goalless draw.

On Tuesday at the Corinth Playing Field, GMC narrowly defeated Northern United 2-1. Tonius Simon was the standout player, scoring a brace in the 58th and 70th minutes, while Lyndon Constantine scored a penalty for Northern United in the 53rd minute.

Lancers FC asserted their dominance with a 2-0 victory over Valley Soccer Academy (VSA), with Messiah Pinel’s impressive first-half goals in the 4th and 15th minutes.

At Soufriere, Faith United and Black Panthers battled to a 1-1 draw as Johnel Romulus scored for Faith United in the 38th minute, and McCarther Louis equalized for the Black Panthers in the 51st minute.

In the final match, Uptown Rebels and CT Foundation fought hard but ended with a scoreless draw.
