Toastmasters Celebrate 100 Years

Toastmasters International was founded by Dr Ralph Smedley and established on October 22, 1924.

Toastmasters is a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that builds confidence, leadership and public speaking skills.  Toastmasters International has a membership base of over 270,000 members within 14,000 Clubs worldwide.

In Saint Lucia there are four Toastmasters Clubs namely: Platinum Artistic Toastmasters Club, NIC Toastmasters Club, UWI Global Campus Saint Lucia Toastmasters Club and the Public Service Toastmasters Club.  Each providing a unique environment and opportunity for transformative development in communication and leadership skills.

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Toastmasters International and a series of special events, programmes, and planned initiatives are organised to celebrate this milestone.  In Saint Lucia key activities include media promotions, demonstration meetings, panel discussions and social events.  An open house event has been slated for Tuesday October 22nd, 2024 at Constitution Park from 5 – 7pm.  The open house event provides a platform for Toastmasters to share their testimonies, insights on their Toastmasters journey and a wide range of information on the ultimate benefits of toastmasters as well as opportunities to sharpen leadership, communication, and personal development.

The Saint Lucia Clubs remain committed to support and help all Saint Lucians to access the cutting-edge educational tools and programs tailored to develop people from all walks of life become better communicators and leaders.
