Courts Optical Relaunches Brighter View Initiative on World Sight Day

.

Courts Optical proudly relaunched its Brighter View Initiative at a press event held at its Marisule branch, coinciding with the celebration of World Sight Day. First introduced in 2019, the initiative aims to provide free, quality eyewear to children across the OECS. Yesterday marked the expansion of the programme, reinforcing Courts Optical’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of students through better vision.

Expanding Impact Across the OECS

Speaking at the relaunch, Llana Casimir, OECS Optical Chain Manager, highlighted the programme’s significant growth:

“Today, we proudly relaunch the Brighter View program, which we first introduced in 2019 to provide free, quality eyewear to children across the OECS. Since then, over 600 children have benefited from this initiative. Today, we are expanding its impact by providing an additional 500 free glasses to students in St. Lucia, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent, and St. Kitts, with 150 of those glasses going to students in St. Lucia.”

The Importance of Clear Vision for Success

Llana Casimir further emphasised how the initiative empowers students:

“We all understand how vital good vision is for children—it directly impacts their ability to learn, engage in the classroom, and interact with the world around them. For many children, simply putting on a pair of glasses opens up a world of opportunity. Brighter View is about giving our youth the tools they need to reach their full potential.”

Support from the Ministry of Education

Courts Optical continues to receive valuable support from its partners in the education sector. Cyrus Cypal, Deputy Chief Education for Instruction, attended the relaunch and expressed the Ministry’s full endorsement of the initiative:

“We are deeply grateful for Courts Optical’s dedication to student success. This program ensures that children with vision challenges are equipped to excel academically, and we are proud to support this important effort.”

Join the Brighter View Movement

Courts Optical invites the public to be part of this transformative programme by raising awareness and advocating for a better vision for students. By providing free eyewear to students in need, the Brighter View Initiative is making a real and lasting impact on the lives of young people across the OECS.
