The Saint Lucia Chapter of CIWiL, (Caribbean Women in Leadership) is excited to announce a transformative one-day workshop focused on empowering women in politics in the south of the island. Scheduled for September 21, 2024, this event invites women over the age of 18 from Vieux-Fort and its surrounding areas (such as Laborie, Choiseul and Micoud) to participate and enhance their understanding and engagement in the political sphere.
This workshop aims to provide participants with valuable insights into the political process, effective advocacy strategies, and the skills necessary to navigate the political landscape. With a lineup of experienced speakers and facilitators, attendees will engage in interactive sessions designed to inspire and equip participants to take active roles in their communities and beyond. Participants of the workshop will explore topics such as:
– Parliamentary Procedures and Protocols
– Why the Gender Agenda
– Transformational Leadership
– Barriers and Challenges to Women’s Participation in Politics
It will also be an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and build a supportive network.
“We believe that women’s voices are essential in shaping our political landscape. This workshop is an opportunity for women to learn, share, and empower each other,” noted Caron Tobiere, Chairperson CIWiL Saint Lucia.
“We encourage all women from Vieux-Fort, Laborie, Micoud, Soufriere, Choiseul and nearby areas to join us and take this step towards ensuring that our women have a seat at the table where decisions are made,” she added.
