“I heard gunshots and as soon as I looked up I saw smoke,” an eyewitness told The VOICE
Law enforcement officers have reported that a male was shot dead at Fond Assau, Babonneau, on Sunday.
The incident which occurred about 9: 20 p.m., resulted in the death of Alva Cole, 17, of Girard Cacao, Babonneau.
Investigators discovered the motionless body of the victim which bore signs of an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service who were present attended to the victim, however, he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
“I heard gunshots and as soon as I looked up I saw (smoke). I ducked and I ran,” one eyewitness told THE VOICE shortly after the incident had occurred.
“We were in a shop when it happened. When I returned I heard someone saying there was somebody on the floor,” the eyewitness said.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is urging anyone with information in connection with the homicide to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754 or the Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120. Additionally, the Crime Hotline (555) and the RSLPF Crime Hotline App are available for anonymous reporting.
