The Caribbean Court of Justice wishes to advise that on 30 July 2024, it will conduct an in-person hearing for the matter of the Attorney General of Guyana, Sarah Browne, Vikash Ramkissoon v Christopher Jones and the Speaker of the National Assembly, at the Seat of the Court.

SYNOPSIS OF CASE: The appellants were appointed Parliamentary Secretaries by the President of Guyana following the General Elections held in March 2020. By virtue of their appointments, they held two seats as non-voting members of the National Assembly. On 25 July 2023, the Court of Appeal of Guyana upheld the decision of the Chief Justice which declared that the appellants were not lawful members of the National Assembly. The appellants have appealed to the CCJ.
