Saint Lucia defied the competition and emerged victorious in the OECS Boxing Championships, showcasing incredible performances by its athletes at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, last weekend.
The local boxing team secured the top spot with an impressive 50 points, leaving second-place team Grenada trailing behind by 32 points.
Additionally, Trinidad and Tobago clinched the 2024 Invitational Category title with a stellar performance.
The event, held under IBA-approved regulations, was organized by the Saint Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) and received overwhelming support from enthusiastic fans.
There was keen sporting rivalry among the competing teams, each supportive of their boxers. Fans were kept on edge as they spurred on the local fighters to take on the challenge against their opponents.
Special recognition was also given to outstanding boxers and teams, with Saint Lucia being awarded the title of “Best dressed Team”.

Saint Lucia – 1st place OECS Championships – 50 points, 10 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals (Winner)
Grenada – 2nd place OECS Championships – 18 points, 9 Silver Medals.
Martinique- 3rd place OECS Championships – 14 points, 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze
Invitational Category
Trinidad and Tobago – 1st place – 33 points, 10 Gold medals, 2 Silver Medals (Winner)
Guyana – 2nd place – 14 points, 4 Gold Medals, 2 Silver medals Barbados – 3rd place – 13 points, 3 Gold Medals, 2
