The newly appointed Minister for Infrastructure, Ports Services and Energy, Hon. Shawn Edward, has set a dynamic tone for his tenure, plunging straight into work during the first week of the new year according to a ministry report.
Determined to build on the successes of his predecessors, Minister Edward has engaged in a series of meetings and site visits designed to strengthen collaboration and accelerate progress across the ministry’s portfolio.
On Wednesday, the newly installed Infrastructure Minister convened a meeting with departmental heads in the ministry’s conference room, where he was briefed on the status of ongoing road infrastructure projects and other initiatives. He used the opportunity to outline his vision for the ministry, emphasizing teamwork, inclusivity, and a shared commitment to excellence.
“My intention is to make this ministry the best it can possibly be. With the support of every team member, we will transform the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports Services, and Energy into a model of efficiency, innovation, and service to the people of Saint Lucia,” said Minister Edward.

Visits to satellite offices across the island, as well as strategic engagements with the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) will form part of a long list of engagements slated for the first quarter of the year.

The island’s energy sector is expected to take centre stage in a series of meetings starting next week.
