The stage is set for what is expected to be the grand finale that the local footballing community has been waiting for, north verses south-a flashback from yesteryear.

If last Saturday’s semi-final matches was anything to go by, this Saturday’s Finals is going to be a must see.
The semi-finals saw Gros Islet come up against a well oiled Vieux Fort South outfit coached by former national player Jamile Joseph.
When Jahlil Evans scored in the 43rd minute for Gros Islet it seemed set to be even more interesting since many were confident Vieux Fort South were going to the finals. Their confidence was not misplaced because it only took two minutes for Vieux Forts South to fire back through Moses Henry and a further two minutes for Saviola Elva to propel his team into the lead. In the second half both teams remained sufficiently active to have spectators undecided as to how the game would go however Jevick MacFarlane sealed the game for Vieux Fort South in the 88th minute to win 3-1. MacFarlane would, minutes later, earn himself a red card unfortunately ruling him out of the finals.
Defending Champions La Clery played Canaries and many rightly had the defending champions as favorites to progress to the finals but that was before a ball was kicked. Canaries showed up for battle and spoke loudly on the playing surface.

Uhann Degazon opened the scoring, putting the defending champions ahead in the 27th minute of play with a second coming from Mervin St. Romaine just after the restart. It seemed done and dusted until Robert Regis pulled one back in the 56th minute to set up a final half hour on a knife’s edge.
Even with many chances for both teams it ended 2-1 in favour of La Clery setting up a mouthwatering final between Vieux Fort South and La Clery at the Sourfiere Mini Stadium on Saturday December 13th.
