The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmly condemns the recent military manoeuvers that pose a direct threat to its citizens, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to fostering peace and providing necessary socioeconomic assistance within the region.

At a recent media briefing, Venezuelan Ambassador Leiff Escalona announced that Venezuela has decisively assisted two Caribbean islands severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa last month.

Ambassador Leiff highlighted this as a “concrete example of Venezuela’s commitment to solidarity and peace,” having delivered 46 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Cuba and Jamaica, both of which were heavily affected by Hurricane Melissa.

This shipment consisted of vital resources including food, medicines, medical supplies, mattresses, and other essentials urgently needed by the affected communities—26 tonnes were sent to Cuba, and 20 tonnes to Jamaica.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Yvan Gil stated, “While other countries pursue threatening and destabilizing agendas in the Caribbean, Venezuela and ALBA stand resolute, offering cooperation, peace, and solidarity.”

In light of the current situation, Ambassador Escalona provided updates on recent developments within Venezuela and the decisive actions taken by President Nicolás Maduro in response to the looming imperial threats approaching the Caribbean.

The ambassador asserted, “The presence of the United States Navy in our region represents the largest military deployment since the first Gulf War and constitutes a blatant violation of the CELAC declaration establishing Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. These actions are accompanied by war propaganda and psychological operations designed to undermine our unity and instigate regime change, in clear violation of international law.”

She continued, “Venezuela has formally denounced to the international community the military exercises being conducted by the United States in the waters of Trinidad and Tobago since October, coordinated and financed by the U.S. Southern Command. These maneuvers are a hostile provocation and a credible threat to peace in the Caribbean.”

In response, Venezuela remains steadfast in its commitment to Bolivarian Diplomacy for Peace. President Nicolás Maduro has called upon the people to remain united in peace, and the Venezuelan populace has demonstrated their resolve through mass mobilizations in defense of peace and the revolution.

Currently, 260,000 Integral Bolivarian Base Committees are effectively organized as a protective shield for our freedom, independence, and peace.

Moreover, the ambassador noted that last week, the Venezuelan President met with Christian and evangelical leaders, underscoring the critical importance of praying for peace.

She emphasized, “However, let there be no misunderstanding: praying does not equate to Venezuela being unprepared to confront any situation. In all Bolívar squares, political engagement is intertwined with the spirit of prayer.”

Ambassador Escalona outlined a series of decisive interventions Venezuela will implement to ensure a peaceful and prosperous region.

This week’s agenda of activities includes:

–  National Prayer for Peace

– Vigils and Cultural Activities Across All States, Proudly Waving Our National Flag

– Mobilization to the Venezuelan Coasts in Solidarity with Fishing Communities, Openly Denouncing Disproportionate Military Threats

– Territorial Defense Exercises Via the Integral Bolivarian Base Committees, Acting both Politically and Defensively for Our Nation

– Fourth National Consultation on Communal Projects, Promoting Active Community Participation, Coinciding with President Nicolás Maduro’s Birthday

In conclusion, Ambassador Escalona declared, “Venezuela unequivocally seeks peace. Our actions speak volumes, as seen in the immediate aid delivered to Cuba and Jamaica. We will persist in pursuing all possible diplomatic avenues, both regionally and internally, to safeguard peace, sovereignty, and the integrity of our nation.

“Peace, sovereignty, and the creation of a new world are in our hands!”
